Aims of the course:

To develop an understanding of many different alternative and augmentative communication systems

To increase awareness of how an individual can communicate using the different systems

To develop an understanding of non, lite, medium and high technology communication systems

To learn when to introduce an AAC system

To learn the best ways of modelling and implementing AAC systems

To learn ways of developing a positive communication environment

To understand and learn the influence of motor memory

To learn the power of core words

Target setting for AAC to ensure good outcome measure
